Vows

A vow is a diary for cutting back gradually: you set a number and a term, and the app works out your daily limit. There's no medical advice here.

The app is in Russian for now; the English interface is in preparation. Screenshots show the Russian interface, and button names in the text are given in English.

  1. Open “Vows”

Start a new vow with the “+ Make a vow” button at the bottom of the “Courses” tab, or on the “Vows” tab. By default, the tab bar has “Day”, “Calendar”, “Assistant”, “Courses” and “Profile”; there's no “Vows” tab there. You can add it: “Profile” → “Tab bar” → the “+” button (up to three sections fit between “Day” and “Profile”). While the tab isn't on the bar, it opens from “Profile” → “More sections”.

  2. Read the consent window

The first time you tap “Make a vow”, the “How this works” window opens. Check “Read and understood”: then the “Start” button becomes available. “Later” closes the window, and no vow is created. After “Start”, the window doesn't appear again.

The consent window before the first vow. The “Start” button becomes available after the checkmark.
  3. Choose what you're cutting back on

In the “What to quit” block, tap a ready-made option: “Cigarettes”, “Vape”, “Sweets”, “Energy drinks”, “Coffee”, “Fast food” or “Phone scrolling”. The option fills in the name, the unit, the daily limit, and the pack size. Type your own option in the “Or your own” field. The form opens with an example, “Cigarettes”, 20 pcs a day and a 60-day term: replace them with your own values.

The “Make a vow” form: the “Phone scrolling” option selected, unit “min”, a limit of 180 a day, a 60-day term, method “Steady”, time 09:00 (screenshot is in Russian)
The new vow form. The screenshot shows the “Phone scrolling” option selected.
  4. Choose the unit and the limit

In the “Measured in” block, pick a unit: pcs, servings, ml, min, cans, cups or puffs. In the “How many a day now” field, enter how much you use right now. A value below 1 becomes 1 when you save.

  5. Set the term and the way you cut back

“Length, days (14–90)”: a value outside the range is set to the nearest limit when you save. “How to cut down”: “Steady” — the limit drops every day; “In steps” — the limit changes once a week; “Fast start” — during the first third of the term the limit drops to half the starting value, and after that it heads to zero.

  6. Set the toughest time and the start date

“Toughest time” is 09:00 by default: the reminder comes at this time, if you turn it on. “Start date” is today by default. Until the start date, the card says “Starts” and waits.

  7. Add money if you want

In the “Money” block, enter the “Pack price” and the “Units per pack”. Choose a currency from six options (₴ ₽ $ € ₸ zł) or type one in the “custom” field. If you don't enter a price (the field stays at 0), money isn't shown on the cards.

  8. Check the preview and save

Under the fields, the app shows today's daily limit and when “Day 0” comes — the day the limit reaches zero. Tap “Make a vow”: the app opens “Day”, and the card appears above the day's schedule. If a vow with that name already exists, the app asks whether to make another one.

  9. Log what you use

On the vow card, tap “Check off” to log one unit, or “−” to remove one. “−” can't take the count below zero. The card shows how much is left for today from the limit. Log on the “Day” screen: it shows which day you're logging for.

  10. What to do if you go over the limit

When today's check-offs go above the limit, the “Went over today” window appears. Choose “Keep the plan as it is”, “Move day 0 by two days”, or “Add a week, go easier”. A shift adds days to the term, but never more than 365 days. Note: the next time you save in “Edit vow”, the term goes back to 14–90 days. The window appears the first time you go over the limit in a day.

  11. Tap “Ritual” when it appears

“Ritual” appears when today's limit has a fractional part, or when the reduction step is at least one unit per day. A “Your moment” window opens with short steps. “Done” checks off the ritual for that day, and the button disappears for the day. “I'll be back later” closes the window without a check-off.

  12. Tap “Urge” when the urge hits

“Urge” opens the “Craving it right now” window with a three-minute timer. “It passed” closes the window. “Borrow from tomorrow's” logs one check-off for the open day, like “Check off”; the limits for the next days don't change because of it.

  13. Edit a vow

Tap ⋮ (three dots) on the card to open the “Edit vow” window. Change the fields and tap “Save”: the app opens “Day”. You can also change the term: when you save, it's set to the 14–90 day range.

  14. Delete a vow

In the “Edit vow” window, tap “Delete” at the bottom. The vow is removed right away, without confirmation. You can't bring it back with “Undo” in Profile: make a new vow.

  15. Turn on the reminder

After saving, open the vow through ⋮ and check the “Remind me” row (off by default). The reminder arrives once a day at the “Toughest time”, until you check off “Ritual” for that day; the “Ritual” button doesn't show up every day. Reminders work in the Android app and only when they're on: “Profile” → the “Reminders” row in the “App” block → the “Turn on reminders” switch. The same place, in the “Which tasks to remind about” section, shows vows with switches.

  16. Write a vow through the assistant

On the “Assistant” tab, type (or dictate, if your phone supports voice input), for example: “Start a vow for cigarettes: currently 20 a day, a 60-day term”. The assistant shows an item “new entry · quit vow”. A single item shows without a checkmark; if there are several, check the ones you want. Tap “Apply” or “No thanks”. Until you tap “Apply”, nothing changes. If a vow with that name already exists, the assistant won't create a second one and will tell you why.

  17. Ask the assistant to log a ritual, a course or a meal

Examples: “Add a ‘Warm-up’ step to my morning ritual, 5 minutes, at 7:30”; “Start a ‘Stretching’ course: 14 days of intake, then a 3-day break, at 7:00”; “Add lunch at 13:30: buckwheat, 150 g”. Each entry arrives as a separate item, and only “Apply” saves it to your data. If you don't have a morning ritual yet, the assistant creates one for you called “Morning ritual”.

Questions about this section

A little more
clarity.

Do I have to read “How this works” every time?

No. The window opens the first time you tap “Make a vow”. After “Start”, the form opens right away.

Is this a medical app?

No. A vow is a diary and a plan: you set the numbers and the term, and the app works out the limit and sends reminders. There are no medical recommendations or promises of results here. You choose the pace and can change it on any day.

Can I keep several vows going at once?

Yes. Each has its own term, plan, and card. If a name matches a vow already in progress, the app asks you about it; the assistant won't create a second identical one.

How is “Ritual” different from “Habits” on the “Courses” tab?

“Ritual” is a button on the vow card. It appears when today's limit has a fractional part or the reduction step is at least one unit per day, and it's checked off once a day. “Habit” is the ongoing steps of your morning ritual on the “Courses” tab.

I deleted a vow by mistake. How do I get it back?

“Delete” removes the vow right away, without confirmation, and “Undo” in Profile doesn't bring it back. Make a new vow through “Make a vow”: old check-offs aren't linked to the new vow.

The term has run out, but I'm still going. What do I do?

The card shows the totals and “Zero for”, and there won't be check-off buttons there. Tap ⋮ on the card, in the “Edit vow” window raise the term and tap “Save”: when saved, the term can't go over 90 days.
